Which are the Top Three Android Phones Between 13-15K?

Android is the new buzz in market. If we see the trend, every mobile phone manufacturer wants to enter the Android phone segment. Currently, Android OS has 33% of the global market share, which is expected to receive a remarkable high in the next one year.

If you are planning to buy an Android phone, the wish list could be a little longer. Let’s try to narrow down your search to Three Best Android Phones, which will fit perfectly in your pocket.

HTC Wildfire S – Price – Rs.13,399

The mid-range, feature loaded handset from HTC, Wildfire S is ideal for those who don’t like missing out on tech upgrades, but don’t prefer splurging huge amount. Widlfire S is an Android Gingerbread phone with 3.2” TFT LCD display and capacitive touchscreen.  I am somehow disappointed with the resolution of the phone i.e 480x320 pixels. The Gorilla Glass display will surely keep your phone away from scratch and stains.

A 5 megapixel camera with LED flash is noticeable feature of the phone. For those, who want to stay connected, the phone has 3G, Wi-Fi b/g/n support, Bluetooth 3, and VOIP for video chat.

You will not complain about the performance of the phone because it has a 600MHz processor with 512MB RAM.  The memory is expandable to 32GB.

If you are getting a Gingerbread device with a decent processor speed and reasonably good RAM, you wouldn’t mind spending Rs.13,399 for it.

Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 – Price – Rs.13,999

Here’s comes the Ace from Samsung. This good looking phone is attracting buyers with its Apple iPhone resembling looks and of course, the specs.

The phone is light weight but feels plasticky in hand. Samsung could have done a better job in improving the overall feel of the phone as well. The TFT LCD screen of Galaxy Ace is larger than Wildfire S, i.e 3.5” but again the resolution is less. Both the phones share same 480x320 pixels resolution. It has capacitive touchscreen and supports multi-touch.

Most of the smartphones are these days coming with Wi-Fi b/g/n support and Ace is no exception. It has 3G and VoIP support. If you are an avid photographer, you will like clicking photographs with the 5MP camera of Galaxy Ace. It has an LED flash too and supports video recording @20fps.

Poor RAM is something the phone lacks in. I agree that the phone has 800MHz processor speed but meager 278MB RAM will make you notice the slow performance level.

Coming to battery life. Being an Android phone, you can’t expect Ace to be your companion on a 7-days travel trip but it will surely let you continuously work for 8 hours. The phone is shipped with Android Froyo OS but it’s upgradable to Gingerbread.

Spice Mi-410 – Price – 13,999

Spice made a good attempt to enter the high-end phone market with Mi-410. The metallic body of this 10mm phone accentuates the look. The phone has an amazing 4.1” TFT LCD display with 800x480pixels resolution.

Camera is 5MP with LED flash support. It’s 720p video recording capability is worth mentioning. This is not all, the phone has a secondary VGA camera for video chat & calling purpose.

The phone supports Android Froyo but the Gingerbread upgrade has been rolled out by the manufacturer. And how can I forget to talk about 1GHz Snapdragon processor of Mi-410, which is backed-up by 512MB RAM.

About battery performance – You will be disappointed. Mi-410 has 4 hours talktime in 2G and 2 hours 30 minutes in 3G. You can blame 1GHz processor, RAM, and Android OS for the not-so-good battery back-up.

What is Your Dream Cellphone Like?

Cellphones have become an integral part of our life. We need our phone when we leave for office, go on a vacation, and even in our bathroom. Technology has evolved and so have the features in our mobile phones. There was a time when mobile phones were only used for making/ receiving calls, that too at high tariffs. We can now send SMS/MMS, browse Internet, watch movies, play music, and even monitor our heart beats through the cellphone. “We always desire for more” and of course, “necessity is the mother of invention”. Nokia Windows Mango 7.5 Phone Review - The Good & The Bad Things

When everybody was expecting Nokia to finally adapt to Android OS, the Finnish cellphone manufacturer decided to count upon Microsoft for improving its market presence. It was 6 months back, Nokia officially announced that its new phone will be running on Windows. And the company has recently launched two Windows phones, Lumia 800 and 710 in market. Running on OS 7.5 Mango, both the phones have received a mixed response in market. Now, the next big question is, will Nokia be able to re-establish itself in the market with Windows mobile? Microsoft’s Philosophy Microsoft doesn’t believe in post PC World. The software giant has always tried to keep the products in its very own ecosystem. This is quite apparent when we see that most of the Microsoft’s software are compatible with most PCs. Recently, Microsoft has disappointed consumers by announcing that there would be no tablet edition of Windows 7. The next version of Windows, i.e. Windows 8 will ru
