iPhone 13 Review: How’s it Different from the iPhone 12

The good-looking iPhone 13 has stolen the limelight with its flawless performance and amazing camera. The new iPhone comes with a couple of upgrades over the iPhone 12 including a bigger battery, advanced processor, smarter camera and better display. Let’s talk about all these aspects of the new iPhone 13 in detail:

Design

The iPhone 13 shares similar looks with the iPhone 12. It has a glass back flat screen design and aluminium chassis with rounded edges, which is already there in the iPhone 12. However, the difference lies in the camera module and the power button that is shifted slightly to the right side. The new iPhone weighs more than the iPhone 12 (maybe because of the battery), but it is lighter than most of the other models of iPhone.

Performance

The iPhone 13 comes with an A15 Bionic chipset, which is 50 percent faster in terms of CPU performance and 30 percent faster in terms of GPU performance. If numbers are to be believed, the A15 chipset can perform 15.8 trillion operations every second. Whether you are watching a movie, playing games, making calls or sending messages, multi-tasking gets a way lot easier with the iPhone 13.

Display

The iPhone 13 features 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED True Tone display and a resolution of 2532x1170 pixels. Although its predecessor iPhone 12 has the same specifications, what has changed is the brightness. The new iPhone 13 has a brightness of 800 nits while iPhone 12, iPhone 11 and iPhone XR have 625 nits of brightness. The screen is well lit and the colours have the right amount of contrast, which means that images and videos look more realistic.

Camera

The iPhone 13 comes with a 12 megapixel, wide-angle sensor at the front and a 12 MP ultra-wide angle sensor at the back. It has 2x optical zoom, 5x digital zoom and night mode. The new Cinematic Mode will make videos creation a more enjoyable experience for users. The camera quality is fantastic and you will love the rear camera that captures crisp and clear pictures with the right amount of contrast and brightness. If you love to post for Instagram, the iPhone 13 is for you.

Upon detecting low light conditions, the phone automatically shifts to the night mode. The images are clicked in a fraction of seconds and have less noise than earlier models of iPhone.

Battery

As per Apple, the battery of the iPhone 13 lasts up to 2.5 hours longer than that of the iPhone 12. The phone gets charged from 0 to 50 percent in 30 minutes because of the fast charging support.

The Verdict

iPhone 13 is an ideal device for users who want a fast-performing device, but not a pro-level performance. The phone comes with a super-speedy chipset, amazing camera, more powerful battery and a host of other features that make it a better contender than other models of iPhone. At a starting price of Rs. 79,900, iPhone 13 is not a bad deal. But, if you are thinking of upgrading from iPhone 11 or iPhone 12, we recommend you to re-think.
