Why Shop Online?

The online shopping trend is about to explode. With so many retailers and even big brands following the same trend, we can say that eCommerce is going to be the next boom in the industry. However, online shopping is still in an evolving stage in India. I am amazed to see how dramatically the number of online shoppers is increasing in the country. It was estimated that air and rail tickets of whopping INR 30 crore are sold online everyday. Online shopping is hassle free and yes, we all are slowly adopting this trend. What are those “good things” about online shopping, which make it so addictive? Let’s talk about them: You Get More Options Just Google about a particular product you want to purchase and thousands of results will be displayed on the screen within a few seconds. BlackBerry Torch 9860 RIM has finally introduced the much awaited BlackBerry Torch 9860 in India. The phone has also been launched as Torch 9850, which is a US version with CDMA/EVDO support.  Running on BlackBerry OS 7.0, the phone has a 3.7 inch capacitive touchscreen display and a resolution of 800x480 pixels. The specs are somewhat similar to the recently launched Torch 9810 but the sliding physical QWERTY keypad is missing in this BlackBerry. The impressive thing about new Torch 9860 is the powerful 1.2GHz processor and 768MB RAM that will make your browsing and application access experience faster. The 5 megapixel camera with LED flash will not disappoint you, as BlackBerry phones even with 2MP camera click decent pictures. The UI is more fluidic and new BlackBerry browser is undoubtedly faster than earlier versions. There’s support for recording and playing HD videos @720p. I wish the phone had support full HD video playback, i.e. 108...

What is Your Dream Cellphone Like?

Cellphones have become an integral part of our life. We need our phone when we leave for office, go on a vacation, and even in our bathroom. Technology has evolved and so have the features in our mobile phones. There was a time when mobile phones were only used for making/ receiving calls, that too at high tariffs. We can now send SMS/MMS, browse Internet, watch movies, play music, and even monitor our heart beats through the cellphone. “We always desire for more” and of course, “necessity is the mother of invention”. There are lot many features and apps, we are craving for our cellphones to come with. A very good friend of mine asked what all things I would love to have in my mobile phone and my wish list was pretty long. Here are a few of my demands that I would want to share with everyone:   I have a problem with thickness of the phone Yess, we all love slim bodies. No doubt about it. I want my phone to be extremely sleek. Have heard that...

Camera Phone or A Smart Camera Phone?

With every mobile phone brand coming up with one or the other enhanced camera feature in their device, buying the right camera phone is surely a confusing thing for the consumer. So, what are those features that make a camera phone, a smart camera phone?   Does Megapixels Really Matter? Yes, but that doesn’t mean you will have to buy a phone with 12 megapixel camera. Most of us don’t know that we need higher megapixels in case we want to take poster print of photographs. Number of megapixels determines how an image will look when it will be printed in large size. If you will take a large print out of image captured from camera that doesn’t have enough megapixel, result will be a blurred image. Another thing to keep in mind is that editing or cropping images clicked from low megapixel camera will be lead to fuzzy results. Camera phones with fixed focus will not capture quality pictures because the lens will cover anything that will fall in the...

Is HTC Sensation Z710e Facing Death Grip Problem?

First reported in Apple iPhone 4, "death grip" can muffle the wireless signals of the phone it's held in a certain way (like in landscape mode). Got my hands on HTC Sensation a few days back, and came to know how the phone can actually get a noticeable signal loss even when the Wi-Fi speed is pretty decent. Watching YouTube videos in portrait mode was a smooth experience, but the moment I switched to landscape mode and clicked on a video, all I got was a lot of buffering time. HTC's back cover could be the reason behind death grip. This removable cover is made of metal but there are plastic areas in between to work as antennas for the phone. If your hand by chance covers these plastic pieces, the result  would be a drop in the signal receptivity of the phone. You might face the death grip problem while browsing Internet on Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity or when you are listening to radio. If we keep aside the problem of death grip, Sensation is a good phone. It...
